THE ALPHA COURSE

What is Alpha?
Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. People of all ages are welcome.

Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and have fun at the same time.

People meeting together. An opportunity to get to know others and make new friends.

Helping one another. Small groups provide a chance to discuss your questions with others.

Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too simple or too hostile.

Alpha is for everyone!

Those wanting to investigate Christianity.
                    Your friends who may be unlikely to attend a church service.
                                            New Christians
                              Those who feel that they never really got going as a Christian.
                                                          Newcomers to the church.
        Anyone desiring to make friends or find a place of service in the church.
   Those seeking a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit.

Each week people meet together for a meal, followed by a talk on topics such as:

	"Who is Jesus?"
	"Why Did Jesus Die?"
	"How Can I be Sure of My Faith?"
	"Does God Still Heal Today?"
	"Why and How Should I Read the Bible?"
	"Why and How Do I Pray?"
	"What About the Holy Spirit?"
	"How Can I Overcome Evil?"
	"Why and How Should I Tell Others?"
	"Does God Heal Today?"
	"What About the Church?"

After each talk there is a small-group time for everyone to discuss any questions or issues they have. This gives an opportunity to get to know each other and to learn together. There is a day or weekend retreat midway through the course, which focuses on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
