Loudoun Cares - Loudoun Cares and local organizations have joined forces and resources to keep area residents warm this winter by establishing the Fuel Assistance Fund in December 2005.  Potomac Falls Church, one of four faith community partners that helped start the fund, contributed $660.

Loudoun Cares is a nonprofit human service center that includes an information and referral telephone line that helps Loudoun residents with their needs.  For more information about Loudoun Cares visit their website at www.loudouncares.org.

Local Families - PFC works with Loudoun Cares and Loudoun Social Services to provide assistance to local families in need.  We provided assistance to help pay gas bills, electric bills, rent and pharmacy bills.  In 2005, we provided $4,762.94 of assistance.  These funds come from the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund ($3,997.94) and the Outreach budget ($765).

Loudoun Interfaith Relief - Members of PFC volunteered every third Saturday of each month at Loudoun Interfaith Relief, a food pantry in Leesburg that provides food to those who are hungry in Loudoun Country.  In addition to distributing food on Saturdays, we collected and donated much needed juice to Interfaith and the Outreach Committee supported Interfaith with a $500 donation.

Children’s Offering - Our youngest members have their own outreach.  Each Sunday our children gave an offering that was used to support a child, Ngor from Senegal, through World Vision.  In 2005, our children collected $221.32.  Our support for Ngor is $26 per month.  This is a continuing project for our children.
